Bus Driver Join Highway Clean Up And Become A Savior

Every year, Northstar Bus Lines and American Student Transportation employees team up for the Highway Clean Up. We are responsible for cleaning along Highway 81 in Maple Grove. Despite the bipolar Minnesota weather, we set out this past weekend with our gloves and trash bags in hand. Every year, we find a lot of neat objects. This year, one of our hidden treasures actually led to an individual's relief. 

Christine Drachaen found a wallet. It contained several important documents including a drivers license, passport card, DOT card, social security card, and medical card; almost everything but cash. Just imagine losing your entire identity. On the way home, Christine and her husband decided to drop the wallet off to the address listed on the ID. 

The recipient was beyond grateful. He explained that his car was involved in a recent smash and grab, and he lost everything. Although his money was missing, the original documents he kept in his wallet were all there. He was beyond grateful as he was starting to run into complications replacing everything. Talk about luck! So grateful for the find, he came into interview for a school bus driver position the following week. When asked about his wallet he responded, “There's a word for honest people!”
